Funded MASc Opportunity

Project Description: The Circular Process Engineering Laboratory (CPEL) at Dalhousie University is seeking a motivated MASc student for a funded research project on advancing sustainable technologies for a cleaner, low‑carbon future. The MASc student will contribute to developing sustainable engineering solutions involving clean hydrogen (H₂) production using bioelectrochemical pathways, carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture, and resource‑efficient processes that enable greener industrial practices. Working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, the student will gain experience in experimental methods, system modeling, environmental assessment, and engagement with industry partners. The overarching goal is to advance circular‑economy.

Required Qualifications:
· BEng or BSc degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field
· Strong academic standing
· Demonstrated interest in sustainability, clean technology, or process innovation
· Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable, please see here)
Preferred Qualifications (considered assets):
Experience in any of the following is beneficial but not required:
· Laboratory experimentation or analytical techniques
· Process modeling or simulation
· Environmental systems, sustainability assessments, or circular economy concepts
